TUITION 2025-2026 is payable in advance and is due at or before the first lesson. Tuition may be paid in full or in 2 equal installments. There is an annual registration fee of $30. There are 16 individual lessons and one group class per semester. An initial trial lesson can be purchased for $50. Please note: Bennett offers a limited number of scholarships to highly motivated applicants who demonstrate financial need. Please contact the Director for further information.

BCM Policies: In order for a lesson to be made up, the teacher must be contacted 24 hours in advance. Students are allowed 2 excused absences per semester. Teachers will make up any lessons that they miss. If a student decides to withdraw from lessons, tuition for the semester cannot be refunded after the first month of lessons has been given, except in the case of a serious medical condition. If a student chooses not to attend the group lesson scheduled by the teacher, it cannot be made up.
Come Sing with Your Child! (ages 1-3 with parent or caregiver)
Young children love the sound of your voice. Come sing, dance and make music with them! Each class will include songs, rhythmic play, percussion instruments, circle games, and a story. This 40-minute class will provide a stress-free, playful introduction to singing and movement, which can lead to a lifetime of musical enjoyment.

Come Sing With your Child! (ages 3-4 with parent or caregiver)
Three-year-old children still love to hear your voice, but they are ready for more action! This class
will continue to build on the musical foundations of rhythm and pitch with song, percussion
instruments, circle games and a musical story.

4’s Make Music Alone!
This fun-filled class will enhance the musical concepts of rhythm and pitch with movement, songs and use of percussion instruments. Basic note-reading will also be introduced.

Instrument Sampler (ages 5-7)
This is an ideal class for children who are not sure which instrument to choose. Each class will include singing and enhance basic musical skills with percussion instruments. There will be 2 weeks to explore each of the following instruments: piano, guitar, violin, cello and recorder.

Creative Music Theory Class (ages 6 and up)
Creative music theory classes are musicianship classes complementing instrument instruction. Music theory can be fun and can build confidence when eager young artists are shown a direct, practical music application! Ear training is a big part of music theory class. Through games and other resources, students will be taught to hear and recognize, pitches, intervals, and chords. Students will learn scales, key signatures, basics of harmony and rhythm. The ultimate goal of creative theory is to produce a literate musician, able to understand, read, and write music.

Singing Class (ages 5-7)
Vocal ensemble for those who love to sing! Singing lifts your spirits and can lead to a lifetime of good health and happiness. Singing with correct technique will enhance all musical skills and is an essential part of a musician's development. Repertoire will be carefully selected to suit children's voices and interests, with music from across the centuries.

Electronic Music Creation (ages 11+)
Electronic music composition classes. Requirements: lap top computer with Garage Band installed and headphones.

Jazz Ensemble (ages 11+)
Jazz is sometimes seen as a mysterious language. But like any language, it can be learned. For all instruments.

Guitar Class (ages 8 and up)
In this class, students learn beginning guitar in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Students will learn the basic chords and chord variations as well as a variety of rhythmic strum patterns, folk picks and simple melodies. They will learn to play in a band-like setting varying their melody and rhythm by playing with each other and the teacher. By the end of session, students will be playing a variety of basic songs including traditional folk favorites, rock, and blues. (Semi-private guitar lessons also available.)
